I've probably missed this somewhere, it's either my muddled brain or dodgy eyesight or whatever.....but, I can't find how a character is able to raise their Courtcraft skill if it just happens to be a pathetic 1. What about if we use daggers then, that's surely a good compromise!

A recognised weapon and one that's not likely to seriously injure ( or decapitate!) unlike some weapons that spring to mind ( like great big axes for example!).
