This season in the Great Temple of Orlanth, Assistant Priest Quatlu Carasilson notes that there is a vacancy for a post as a Rune Lord, and that Godtalker Julian Sartarvutson wishes to apply for that post. Knowing the record of demonstrated devotion and piety of Godtalker Julian since his arrival in Boldhome, his participation in last Sacred Season's Hero Quest, and his valor displayed on the battlefield as an officer in Quatlu's own regiment, Assistant Priest Quatlu will approach Priest Garoraran Entggatason and use the influence available to him to openly recommend Godtalker Julian for promotion to Rune Lord of OIrlanth.
Praise Orlanth!
Dear all,
It’s with a sad heart I have to tell you that I will no longer be running this game. I’ve run it for more than 40 turns in almost three years, but I can no longer muster the energy to continue.
It’s been really fun. I’m very grateful I’ve had so many great players creating fantastic storylines and events. I really wish it wasn’t so hard to moderate, because I’d really like to see where it would take us.
I will probably return to Glorantha soon, but as a ttrpg campaign, and without the stuff I’ve added in Boldhome Heroes to make it work with the En Garde! rules.
Thank you very much for playing with me.

I seem to have applied a month early for remaining as aide to a city ring member, so I had better do it again this month.

Drighten Erik Stargazer calls upon the King's Champion to issue a challenge to Baron Harold Rastison for insulting the King by failing to appear at any of the Royal Feasts to which he was invited last month.
Erik also issues his own challenge to Baron Harold for the same insult given to the hostess of the Feasts, Her majesty the Queen. He asks the residents of Boldhome to vote that he has cause to do so.
(OOC: Erik asks the King's Champion to consider Harold's behaviour last month an insult to His Majesty and issue the appropriate challenge. He also asks his fellow players on if he has cause to challenge Harold himself for insulting the Queen. (As I read it, the King's Champion will only defend the King's Honour, not that of the Queen).

The rules about attendance at court have a clear legal punishment for failure to attend. Harold has already received those in full measure, enduring substantial social disgrace that will follow him until he redeems himself with deeds of noteworthy bravery on the battlefield, not once but three times if his failures are considered cumulative, as they would appear to have been.
I see no reason to lay further burdens upon him and thrashing him in multiple duels will do no service to his majesty when he should be expending his blood on the battlefield for the good of Sartar. If you think otherwise, I would suggest that appealing to the law court is the correct procedure.

I have no great wish to fight Harold, but his failure to apologise to Their Majesties merely compounds his offence. Let him express his contrition and I will withdraw both my challenge and my request to the King's Champion. I hardly feel that this is a matter for the Law Courts, it is a matter of Honour between gentlemen. You will note that Harold himself was not slow to demand satisfaction last month when he met Quatlu.
I agree that he appears to have been a decent chap and shown courage on the battlefield until now, which merely makes his recent behaviour more shocking.
On a personal matter, I shall be calling to to your Emporium for the fitting of my Wedding Suit. I will be sorry to miss you, but I salute your courage and sense of duty in leading your troops on campaign this season. I wish you all good fortune.
Your friend,
Erik

As with Quatlu, Rufus will seek promotion within the cult of Orlanth - either Asst Priest or Priest ranks - should any such vacancies arise.
Baron Rufus Bronzer
