Just a word of caution re this challenge thingy you've issued, you haven't been on the drink have you? I have made a bit of a mess up recently and that was down to me somewhat over imbibing and now I'm left trying to unravel the fallout.

I wouldn't wish for you to go down the same path so just flagging this up for your attention.

I am probably not the right person to advise you in this matter, but the choice to offer challenge is for you to decide yourself. As worshippers of Issaries that encountered one another in the temple, it is entirely your decision whether to issue challenge or not. Was my presence in the temple at the same time as you sufficiently offensive to demand restitution by drawing blood?

Unlike Erik's challenge, it is not subject to being voted upon by other citizens of Boldhome.

I am going to be leading troops in battle in the coming month and would prefer not to exchange blows prior to departure. I would hope as followers of the same unwarlike cult that we can agree to conveniently fail to notice one another if we meet within the temple grounds. Should we meet in other social situations I can appreciate that a duel is more inevitable. Indeed I am heading to the front again in part to avoid attending such social situations before it is King Argrath's pleasure to bestow a title upon me for prowess on the battlefield.

My good friend Grumbold may not yet have attracted His Majesties eye and been ennobled, but I am sure it is only a matter of time. In the meantime, the usual practice is for a noble offended by a non-nobles higher status is to challenge them as and when they encounter each other at a Temple, Inn, Royal Court or where ever. The duel happens there and then. If just the existence of such a non-noble within Boldhome gave cause for a duel, you would be expected to challenge both Grumbold and Quatlu each and every month.
I therefore suggest that you withdraw your challenge. In any case, it could not take place before Late Storm at the earliest, as we no longer have the time to vote on the validity of challenges before the start of Early Storm (which is also the case for Torben's challenge to Quatlu). And as both are planning on being on campaign until the end of Late Storm no duel could possibly take place before the start of Sacred Time.

[OOC] Erik, Puckahue has decided that encountering in a non-warrior cult only gives the choice of challenge for noble vs high-SL non-noble, whearas if it was in a warrior cult it would be automatic and would have occurred on the spot. If Selena issues challenge now, it will occur before we leave for the front. [OOC]

Selena has cause against Grumbold. There will be no voting on this.

However, Selena must issue a challenge to Grumbold or lose CPs=CHA/2. She did this by starting this forum thread.

The duel will thus be fought next turn they are both in Boldhome at the start of the turn (if they both turn up).

When cause is not so clear, for example if an insult is enough cause, or not going to the Queen's feast is enough cause, there will be voting the turn after a challenge is made. There is a discussion on who should be allowed to vote here: viewtopic.php?t=2065
