Pensions and steads

The current rules are a little unclear on the benefits of being ennobled. In section 19 it says

Titles above Baron carry a pension with them as listed on the chart shown below

and then below the chart (which has no pension amounts)

On becoming titled, a character receives no pension, but gains a Stead (see rules below) in their tribal lands.

(section 32 lists the steads)

I suspect the reference to a pension is an outdated rule that no longer applies, and you get your first stead when you are lucky enough to be made Baron.

The steads have replaced the pensions. You get your first stead when becoming a Drighten.
