Shopping at Silks and Sapphires

Quatlu was a man on a mission today, and he walked purposefully through the streets of Boldhome to the Silks and Sapphires shop operated by Grumbold, his Lt. Warlord. His objective was two-fold, and he knew this was the time and place for the purchases. He entered the shop and asked for the proprietor, so that he could deal with the decision maker on all deals. "I'm here to purchase a Court outfit for Tarkala's Spring Feast, and for a fine engagement ring, preferably. with a Color Me New stone. Tell Grumbold it's Quatlu."

"Ah, so good to see you again, Warlord. It will be my pleasure to furnish you with a fine court outfit. We are well stocked with cloth and trimmings of all kinds. The winter season was surprisingly light on festivities, so there has been time for several deliveries of new material. We have your measurements, so the cutting can get underway as soon as you have made your choice."

"By contrast, delving into the realm of magical gemstones will be a new venture. It will be a challenge to obtain one during the Sacred Time when much mercantile activity is curtailed, but not impossible. I shall make discreet enquiries among the many faithful who have been drawn into Boldhome for the ceremonies. It is quite possible that one of them may possess such a stone and be willing to part with it for the right sum."
