Your Noble Lordships,
My apologies for troubling you but I feel that I really ought to bring to your attention a communication that has been sent to me, following the recent announcement of a Regimental Healer vacancy within Mularik's Company.
As you may be aware, per my previous public revelation, the individual calling him King Broar The Benevolent has sent several messages to me recently. Well, I've now had another one and it relates to the recruitment notice that Lord Erik put out and it reads as follows -
"Attention of Torben Dungshuvler (Orlanth Temple)
My Dear Dungshuvler,
Several of my supporters have gotten word to me that my old friends Erik and Rufus are in urgent need of a Regimental Healer for their most prestigious unit, in fact so pressing is the need that mention has been made of an enhancement wage to whoever fills the role....as well as Erik, himself, promising to heap praises upon the Healer at the Temple of Orlanth itself!!
Well, please do get word to my two, dear, friends that they need search no further, issue no more appeals nor spend another hour in anguish as I, Broar Hofarson, one of Boldhome's past greatest Healers, have answered the call ! Oh yes, how sweet it shall be to re-join my former comrades-in-arms of Mularik's Company, sweeter still to hear Erik praising my name in prayer and to accept the most generous supplementary pay from his own pocket. Naturally, the money is a mere aside, I'd do it for free just to help out my chums but the last thing I wish to do is seem ungrateful or appear to disagree with a Lieutenant Warlord's offer....was it an extra 25 lunars a season...an extra 25 on top of the regular wage?
I'm hurrying my way to the City now but what with all the people who keep stopping me and asking for my excellent medical advice / assistance, wanting to chat with me to hear about all of my past exploits while Hero Questing alone.....not as part of some big group where you could rely on others but had to do everything yourself....or just simply wishing for me to bless them or one of their family members...all of this may cause a bit of a delay and result in me not actually getting back until the end of Fire Season. I realise that this would mean I miss any campaigning business that might be going on.....damn, how frustrating, as I'm itching to get there and join up with everyone...BUT I'll definitely..absolutely....100% etc...be ready the season afterwards. Just let Erik & Rufus know I'm fine to be announced as Regimental Healer with immediate effect, in case I do get there in time, and to leave any (enhanced) wages in a bag at the Chalana Arroy Temple so I can pick them up upon my arrival.
I can't tell you, young Dungshuvler, how my heart is filled with pride and my mind enthused at the prospect of what lays ahead...there might even be a few lunars in it for you as way of thanks for passing on the message..then again, instead of money, perhaps you'd prefer one of my 'lifetime free medical care' awards...I can tell you would....consider it sorted!
Right, I better end now as I can already see another throng of people queuing outside of my tent again, desperate for healing...sigh...a King's* work is never done eh!
'King' Broar Hofarson
* Just to avoid any confusion I'm not King of the Broos....any reference to that is all down to past confusion and misunderstanding. I use the epithet King simply to reflect the love of the commonfolk who keep on telling me how I'm the 'King of their Hearts' for all the kindness, love and harmony I exude.
My Lords, please allow me to make clear I'm only passing on this message to you, from all I have heard about this Broar Hofarson he is, at best, a madman or, at worse, an agent of Chaos. I wish I'd never encountered him on my way to Boldhome so he didn't use me as a conduit for his messages but I feel it is my duty to let you know when any are received, just so you are aware of his seeming intentions.
Recent episodes of troubled sleep have left me wary of my fate during the upcoming Campaign Season against the Lunars, I just can't seem to get rid of the nagging fear that I'm going to be called to meet Almighty Orlanth and this Broar Hofarson will then return to lay claim upon the modest dwellings that I inadvertently occupied upon my arrival, unaware of the fact it was formerly the place he rented. Kind Grumbold has tried to reassure me, bless him, and I hope he is proved correct in saying all of my fears are unfounded because I can imagine it would be pretty shocking if Hofarson were to make a surprise comeback to Boldhome, especially as I heard he was former nemesis of yours, and despite all these words from him saying he's turned over a new leaf, a changed man etc I very much suspect he'll carry on much as before with a series of dodgy business deals and schemes to cause disharmony.
Your loyal fellow Orlanth cultist and former Groom,
Torben.

Re: To Great Lords Rufus and Erik
My dear Torben,
Thank you for letting me know. Do not worry, the odds are that Broar is too much of a coward to show his face in Boldhome once more. Should he actually do so, he would be of interest to the Temple of Chalana Arroy (who presumably removed him from their membership list some time ago, but would still like to hold his much delayed trial) and to the Tribal Levies who have him listed as a deserter (he was sentenced to serve with them until his fines and debts were paid), And, of course, the interest on his debts to the moneylenders will have built up, not to mention the moneys he owes to yourself. Nor, do I feel, that Warlord Rufus would consider him as "qualified" to rejoin our regiment. But the Deputy of Public Harmony would doubtless like a word or two with him also.
I wish you well at the front this season.
