Changing of the Guard

Ah, come in adjutant.
I know you have done a fine job supporting Warlord Carasilson since Early Storm. I look forward to you assisting me in that capacity. With hard work from the command staff, I am confident we will continue to secure victories on this summer campaign. The Warchief will struggle to find as capable an adjutant.
One little word of caution, though. I know we like to socialise with the Eaglebrowns and sometimes, when the ale has been flowing a little too freely, they indulge in little fantasies about how to tweak the noses of the 'Riks. Now it's okay if a friend of theirs might use their position to ensure when we are feasting in Boldhome and officers are of equal rank, the Browns get seated higher at the table, or the last of the ale. But whatever we think of doing little favours, it should not impact campaign effectiveness of any regiment. So lets make sure as the senior regiment in the field, we ensure everyone gets appropriate supplies. I don't know who thought it would be clever to try and give the Guard old hard tack, but next time, trace them and inform me. Don't just shuffle the bad rations on to another regiment in the field. It makes us complicit, besmirches our reputation and makes it impossible to deal appropriately with the original malefactor.
Now, if cartloads of horse dung from the Colymars happened to find their way to the 'Rik's barracks in Early Dark in place of the customary gift of beer, that would not be a matter for the Warlord of the Royal Guards to concern themselves with. Particularly if it was arranged by the Browns and couldn't be laid at the feet of the adjutant of the Guard.
Dismissed, Ten-Thane.
