(OOC: Can a rescue attempt be conditional upon the result of a ransom offer? ie: can we order attempt rescue in week X if ransom offer has been refused).

I feel that a hero as dangerous to the Lunars as Rufus will not be released by them for any ransom, and his friends and colleagues should attempt to break him out of captivity instead.
I would happily take part in a rescue attempt (say week 1 to avoid the risk of Rufus catching a disease), but I am more cunning than brawny, and we will need both; would any strong heroes care to join me?

Great idea, Erik! We should start with the collected pool of money that was offered for Griselna's ransom, but which the Lunars refused. Please keep me informed if there is to be a rescue attempt. We need to get Rufus's freedom back!

I would have thought that a wealthy lover should have the possibility to contribute something towards a captive of equal or higher status, even if less than they would for a lower status partner. However, do we want to keep changing the rules?
