For example the despatches for last turn say that the adjutant of the Free Philosophers became a casualty; but the Army List for this month shows the same number of officers (specifically Ten-Thanes) in post as before. Which is right?
I'm not the GM and I'm not sure I can even communicate with you, what with you being a P.O.W an all that (However, you'll have seen in the Chat pages how we're trying to save you....if it works, note who the instigator was...good old Broar...remember him in your praise...and distribution of any lunars in thanks!) BUT when NPC's die they can also be replaced as promotions exist for NPC's too otherwise the regiments would soon all be empty!

I'll leave it to the GM to confirm but I suspect this is what's happened and other NPCs have been promoted in the vacancies left by the ones who died.

That would make sense; except that NPCs who became Ten-Thanes after me (or other characters) should be junior to me (them) . According to the list, I remain the most junior :(

I'll have a look at this and make sure everyone is in their right place.

It's not the same number of Ten-Thanes as last turn, it's one less. Company E no longer has a Ten-Thane.

You were moved up from Company E to Company D. There was no Subaltern promoted to replace you as commander of Company E. So yes, you are still the most junior Ten-Thane, but instead of four, there are now only three senior Ten-Thanes, as one (who happened to be the regimental adjutant) was killed in action last turn.

Which company/troop do subalterns and warriors belong to within a regiment?

Company/Troop A of the first Battalion/Squadron, unless, when the character joins the regiment,
a) the Warlord orders differently
b) the character orders differently, and the Warlord did not order a specific unit.

(I'll add this to the rules.)

We don't seem to have a monthly report on available roles and whether they are currently held by an npc, player or vacant, unlike brigade positions.
All available appointments are announced each turn.

Most are currently held by NPC:s.

The "Yearly timetable" at the end of the rules document details when various appointments are to be announced.

Sorry Grumbold, I accidentally edited your post instead of replying to it.

No problem.

So if we want to create a vacancy early, we call for a resignation?
