To: Rufus Bronzer
Kheldon Tribe
Rufus,
I heard of your recent arrival to fair Boldhome and would like to invite you to my coming party, at the upmarket Scribbled Scroll Inn, during Week 2 of Late Fire Season. This is billed as 'More Malani Merriment' and promises to be a most splendid affair, those that attend remembering it with affection and nostalgia for years to come!
It's all expenses paid and there won't be any of those stinky Colymar around so you need have no concerns there.
I do so hope you can make, I've always held a fond spot for the Kheldon people, good types, very amiable.
Best regards,
Broar
P.S If you get any invites from a certain Erik Stargazer (aka Starkraving) ignore them as the fellows a pyschopath.
Welcome, Rufus

Re: Welcome, Rufus
Rufus pops by to see Broar and to thank him. Whilst Broar is not normally the sort of person that Rufus would associate with, he thinks that Broar has prospects, in fact good prospects and may well make his mark upon society.
Sadly, he does not think he can make the occasion he has been invited to due to his first weeks in Boldhome being very busy. As Rufus finds himself (temporarily, no doubt) a bit short of currency, he asks Broar if he knows of anyone able to tide him over for a short while?
Rufus explains that he intends to serve on the frontline to safeguard the kingdom as that is an honourable thing to do - and that it is a source of wealth is just a welcome adjunct to doing his duty. He intends to join an esteemed regiment in a position of responsibility and should that work out (as he is (over) confident it will), he would be happy to assist Broar's future prospects should he be in a position to do so.
As for Ten Thane Stargazer, he notes Broar's concerns and states that the Colymar cavalry have a reputation for impetuous bravery that may better fit on the frontier fighting the Lunar Empire.
When Rufus (successfully, gloriously and laden with loot - of course!) then perhaps attending some event put on by Broar would seem fitting.
