Joining cults directly as an initiate

When joining a cult as an initiate does the joining ceremony count as the first week of cult duties that month? And presumably counts as attending a ceremony regarding costs (CHA/2) and toadying to the ceremony leader.

If joining as a lay member presume it also counts as attending a ceremony at the cult as per above too.

No, joining a cult is a separate action. It doesn’t count as cult duty.
